Last time we went to my wife’s grandparents’ house, we dug into some of their old photographs. I just wanted to share this one of my wife as a kid, which i absolutely love. Click on the little one here.
**Originally appeared on Duckduckduckgoose.com** So, no shit. I was driving down the road yesterday and i saw a sign that said STOP ELDERLY ABUSE. What the fuck? Is this really a problem in America? Aside from when Sqwee and i yell out EUTHANASIA from the car, i can’t think of the last time i’ve seen or heard about elderly abuse. Its never on the news. All the old people around here are ok. Grandma Depends seemed just fine and in [...]

**Originally appeared on Duckduckduckgoose.com** Googling. How socially acceptable is it? When i meet someone new, i normally want to learn everything about them that i can. I find people, and the things they do, interesting, but i don’t always want to just ask people thousands of intrusive questions. I archive and catalogue my life on the internet for all interested, and i guess i expect other people to do the same. So when i meet someone, i google them. Its [...]
I’ve reached the fourth milestone, and i’ve conquered. The Apok is now an MCSA. Four more to go, and i’ll be back home looking for work. Last night, at the hotel, i got a call. The guy at the front desk said i had a package. A package?, i thought. Saturday night?, i thought. So i went down, and through the crack in the opening elevator door i could see my wife and Sqwee. They drove 11 hours to come [...]
The testing process, in greater detail: We always end lecture early that day. We break off and find a quiet place to study. The countdown begins. It is at this point that we realize the only thing between now and the test is this time right now. It is the next few hours that will determine our fate, and we immediately regret only studying for an hour last night instead of the four that Chris, our instructor, prescribed. I usually [...]
Here in Atlanta, i have lost all track of time. I can’t tell you what day it is, and most of the time, i can’t even tell you what time it is, unless its in a vague sort of way like half past i just woke up or quarter till i fail this test. Tests are about the only marker i have now. Today is 290. Tomorrow is the day before 291. I haven’t adjusted to the time difference yet, [...]
One down, seven to go, motherfuckers. Passing score: 700. My score: 952.
My only airport experience till now has been fine (which, honestly, was just the once). It took my wife and I less than 10 minutes to get through baggage and security. I got to the airport a good hour and a half before my flight time yesterday, but i was greeted with a line like this was a McDonald’s in Russia. There were about 400 military people who were checking in to my flight, with 6 bags each, including weapons [...]
